Aaayisha Al Mashoor

Speech and Language Pathologist

Introduction

I am a licensed Speech and Language Therapist (DoH, GT32546) with years of experience supporting children with diverse communication and learning needs. Holding a BASLP degree and currently pursuing an MSc in Speech Difficulties at the University of Sheffield, I bring a strong academic foundation together with a practical, client-centred philosophy. I have a particular interest in bridging the gap between spoken language and literacy, helping children with speech difficulties develop into confident readers, writers, and communicators.

Therapeutic Approach

I specialize in supporting children with speech sound disorders, literacy challenges, language delays, and complex communication needs, with particular expertise in bilingual Arabic-English learners. My therapy style combines structured, evidence-based methodologies such as the Multiple Oppositions Approach and the Nuffield Dyspraxia Program with child-led frameworks like DIR Floortime and Gestalt Language Processing. I also integrate tools such as Makaton, SOS Feeding Therapy, and Oral Placement Therapy (OPT), ensuring therapy is engaging, functional, and tailored to each child’s unique profile.

Client Experience

Clients and families can expect a supportive, collaborative environment where therapy goals are individualized, and progress is tracked with clear, measurable outcomes. Sessions are interactive, fun, and rooted in real-life contexts to support carryover at home and school. Parents and educators are actively involved, receiving practical strategies and resources that extend learning beyond the therapy room.

Personal Interests

Outside of my clinical practice, I enjoy reading fiction, exploring mindfulness, and engaging in fitness activities that balance professional and personal growth. I also pursue initiatives in professional development and business, reflecting my holistic perspective as both a therapist and lifelong learner.
